Tresch (1917-2009) grew up on a farm in Fleming, Ohio. After graduation from Ohio State University in 1941, he entered the Army Air Corps and flew on missions with the 320th Bomb Group in North Africa and Europe. He piloted General Eisenhower for a year before being transferred to Special Air Missions. Discharged in 1948, he married his wife, Anne, and worked for the Marietta Concrete Corporation.
